Today we are drinking Saison The One from Brasserie Atrium. A Saison brewed with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and Lambicus (the well-known lambic/gueuze yeasts). Besides barley malt, this beer also contains wheat and coriander seed. At 7.5%, this beer is quite high in alcohol, and you can taste it. However, it drinks away smoothly, is beautiful golden yellow in colour, and with quite a lot of carbonation. It is quite hoppy in taste, with a slight funky undertone, less so than the aroma suggests. Unlike a gueuze or lambic, this beer is not sour in flavour. All in all, a nice delicious refreshing bitter beer!
Brasserie Atrium is a brewery in the Walloon town of Marche-en-Famenne. Founded in late 2018 by a Belgian Brazilian couple. They have several varieties in their core range including several Pale Ales, but also a large number of specials. Of which this beer is 1 of them.
The taproom is open on Friday and Saturday and the shop on all days except Sunday.
